Sawyers Belts 3 HRs Thursday, May 12th , 2061 Whatever Jeff Sawyers ate for breakfast before his game against the Austin Rattlers, it gave him some impressive power. The Saint Paul left fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Old League Park. His home run barrage helped the Riverhawks defeat the Rattlers, 21-5. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 6 and put on a display that history will remember. Jeff Sawyers hit a two-run home run off Adhipa Patterjee in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Fred Thomas in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off Ed Audet in the 6th. Currently Sawyers is hitting .258 and has collected 12 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 32 times, while playing in 36 games. |
