Peter Powell Lost for Season Monday, July 3rd , 2062 The doctors have spoken and Peter Powell of the Quincy Firedancers didn't like what he heard. The 36-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Powell sustained his season-ending injury during the Lincoln Loggers game yesterday at The Big Log. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Quincy medical staff reported Powell had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 14-15 months. So far this season, Powell has a 2-1 won-lost record with 2 saves. He has made 18 relief appearances, logged 34.2 innings and fanned 28 batters while fashioning a 3.12 ERA and allowing the opposition a .273 batting average. |
