Rally Pitching Ravaged by Jacobs
Wednesday, July 12th , 2062
The San Francisco Doves stopped the Black Hills Rally by a score of 13-9 at Ginny Dyer Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Tom Jacobs. The 33-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Jacobs said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Jacobs did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Rally.
"Not much that I can say," offered Black Hills manager Dirk Olinger. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Tom Jacobs singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Shusui Fujii in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Jacobs is hitting .299 for the season with 10 home runs, 45 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has 86 hits in 288 at-bats and played in 74 games.
