Big Day for Denman: Swats 5 Hits Monday, July 17th , 2062 Mark Denman was sizzling at the plate. The Indianapolis left fielder blistered the South Bend Proudest Monkeys for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 9-4. "Denman was too tough to get out today," Proudest Monkeys skipper Troy Gill said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win." Mark Denman hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and flied out in the 16th.
