Ono 5-for-5 for Borderhounds
Friday, August 18th , 2062
It was a sensational day at the plate for Ienobu Ono as he led the charge to a nifty 10-2 win over the Freeze. The El Paso first baseman was pure misery for the Duluth pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Ono put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Carlos Serrano, manager for the Freeze, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Ienobu Ono hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Francis Xavier Pfeffer in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Ono is hitting .336 with 7 home runs and 22 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .410 clip and scored 14 runs.
