Sailors End Huffman Streak Tuesday, August 22nd , 2062 El Paso Borderhounds left fielder Calvin Huffman and his hot bat finally met their match at Annapolis Park. The Annapolis Sailors snapped his 20-game hitting string, holding Huffman hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipping El Paso, 10-2, for good measure. "We're real pleased with this one," Sailors manager Xue-qin Man said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering El Paso makes it even sweeter." So far this season, Huffman is batting .320 with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 41 hits in 128 at-bats, 4 walks and a .341 OBP. Huffman has played in 30 games. |
