Watkins Cracks 3 HR for Heroes Monday, August 28th , 2062 Fans are still buzzing after Gotham whipped the Havana Pelicans by the score of 12-2 at Fortress of Solitude. Hank Watkins smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 6 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Watkins said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Watkins said. "Three is just... wow." Hank Watkins hit a three-run home run off Eb de Ritter in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jason Murgatroyd in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jawad Wa'il in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. This season, Watkins is swinging the bat at a .328 rate with 110 hits in 335 at-bats. To date he has hit 11 home runs, scored 54 runs and driven in 51. |
