Big Day for Bergman: Swats 5 Hits Saturday, September 2nd , 2062 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Paul Bergman -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Annapolis Park and paced the 15-8 Panthers win over the Annapolis Sailors. After his dynamite batting performance, the Richmond third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Paul Bergman singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Gerwin Sier in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and struck out in the 10th.
