Grant Smacks 5 Hits for Hobos Monday, September 4th , 2062 It seemed that Odessa first baseman Gary Grant could do no wrong as the Hobos KO'd the Doves, 17-6. Grant rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Doves hurlers were throwing. "I think the Hobos were stealing signs," growled one unhappy San Francisco fan after the game. "I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Grant in the postgame press interview. Gary Grant singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
