Armando Medina took Rupert Horn Memorial League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 23.

For his spectacular campaign, the Death Valley Scorpions star has been named the 2062 Roundfield League Steve Garvey, Jr. Batter Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the catcher.

On the season he compiled a .330 batting average to go with a .382 on-base percentage. The native of La Grange Park, Illinois also added 28 doubles, no triples, 30 home runs, 106 RBIs and 84 runs scored.

He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 32. Bill Nesbitt of the Mars Martians finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Vicente Martínez of the Death Valley Scorpions finished third with 3 first place votes.
