Pick Sensational, 5-for-6
Friday, April 6th , 2063
Steve Pick knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Coyotes Cove, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 31-year-old center fielder hammered 5 hits in 6 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Lincoln Loggers fell, 10-9, to the Albuquerque Coyotes.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Coyotes manager Iván Gonzáles told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Pick wasn't the difference."
Steve Pick walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Abdul Razzad Piracha in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
For the year, Pick is batting .440 with 11 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 8 times and driven in 13.
