Densmore Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Mars Thursday, April 12th , 2063 It was the best of both worlds for the Mars Martians at Mars Field, as they defeated the Odessa Hobos, 6-4, and also snapped Bert Densmore's 20-game hitting streak. The 24-year-old Odessa right fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Densmore, we just wanted to win the game," said Martians skipper Armando Francisco. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Densmore frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Thus far in 2063, Densmore is hitting .472 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs, 16 runs scored and has compiled a .491 OBP. |
