El Paso Stops Cantu Hit Streak Saturday, April 21st , 2063 The Orlando Oranges lost to the El Paso Borderhounds, 7-5, at Eddie Guerrero Field, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Michael Cantu's 28-game hitting streak. The catcher went 0-for-6 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Cantu, we would win the game," Borderhounds manager Carson Stoller explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."
