Platypus Snap Mattern Streak at 20 Thursday, May 10th , 2063 Doug Mattern of the Rockford Bulldogs came up empty at the plate and went hitless in 3 at-bats for the first time in 20 games. Making matters even worse for the third baseman, Rockford dropped the game to the Pasco Platypus, 8-7. "It was not a good day today," Mattern told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over." This season, Mattern is batting at a .340 clip with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
