Duluth Beats Havana as Jeffes Throws 6-0 Shutout Saturday, June 23rd , 2063 The Havana Pelicans manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Duluth Freeze. The Pelicans were overpowered by Duluth starter Maurice Jeffes, who hurled his club to victory, 6-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Ézékiel Houde said. Over 9 innings, Jeffes blanked Havana on 7 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Jeffes said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
