Canucks Álex León Down and Out for Year Sunday, July 29th , 2063 The doctors have spoken and Álex León of the Victoria Canucks didn't like what he heard. The 38-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. León sustained his season-ending injury during the Death Valley Scorpions game yesterday at Philip Morris Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Victoria medical staff reported León had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 14 months. So far this season, León has compiled a 3-2 record with a 2.55 ERA. |
