Odessa Stops Surface Hit Streak Wednesday, August 22nd , 2063 Harry Surface, third baseman for the Death Valley Scorpions, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 2 tries against the Odessa Hobos. Not only did the Hobos break his 22-game hitting streak, they also beat Death Valley by the score of 6-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Surface said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." In 2063 Surface has hit at a .312 clip with 108 hits, 12 home runs, 58 RBIs and has scored 52 times. |
