Salt Lake City Snaps Fernández Streak at 32
Saturday, August 25th , 2063
The San Francisco Doves lost to the Salt Lake City Alpines, 7-3, at Mountain Park, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Miguel Fernández's 32-game hitting streak. The first baseman went 0-for-3 on the day.

"We felt if we could slow down Fernández, we would win the game," Alpines manager Millard Foreman explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."

This year, Fernández has batted at a .367 pace with 54 hits, 2 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 21 times.
