Roundfield League Names Top Player
Monday, October 8th , 2063
At the age of 21, Harrison Dundon of the Brooks Fighting Pheasants could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2063 was good enough to win the right fielder the Roundfield League Steve Garvey, Jr. Batter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .322 batting average this year, as well as a .397 on-base percentage. He played 118 games and racked up 137 hits, 24 doubles, 1 triple, 25 home runs, 75 RBIs and 71 runs scored.
He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 32. Roberto Compton of the Quincy Firedancers finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Steve Pick of the Lincoln Loggers finished third with 3 first place votes.
