Murakami Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Corpus Christi
Tuesday, June 26th , 2063
Parker third baseman Motoshige Murakami went 0-for-2 in Parker's 9-6 triumph over the Corpus Christi Crawfish, snapping his 20-game hitting streak.
Murakami spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."
"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."
When Murakami made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.
"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Crawfish manager Bob Hansen said of Murakami's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
Currently Murakami is batting .302 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs.
