Liberty Advance to Garden Cup Friday, September 8th , 2062 The joy and relief on the faces of the Toledo Liberty players was obvious as they celebrated their Outfield Rail Series win over the Quebec Capitals. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Toledo first baseman Israel Pérez, shortly after the 14-1 win that clinched the series 2-1. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the Garden Cup. Pérez won series MVP honors on the strength of his .357 batting average during the series. He also had a .357 on-base percentage and 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Toledo Liberty don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Portsmouth Vikings - Shreveport Mudcats series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Garden Cup is scheduled to begin on September 9th , 2062.
