Hernández Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 31
Wednesday, August 11th , 2060
Alfredo Hernández's 31-game hitting streak was snapped at Ant Hill. The 19-year-old Charlottesville Marching Ants center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game against the Kingston Kodiaks, but Charlottesville came out the winner, 6-1.

"I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Alfredo," Marching Ants manager Juan Cruz said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames."

This season, Hernández has posted a batting average of .374 with 99 hits in 265 at-bats, 11 home runs and 39 RBIs. He has also scored 74 runs, walked 22 times and compiled a .419 OBP.
