Talons Top Aqua Sox Tuesday, September 13th , 2061 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2061, as the Traverse City Talons topped the Monclova Aqua Sox 8-2 tonight at Impact Ballpark to win the Round 3. It was the 8th title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Traverse City second baseman Juan Oliva, who was named series MVP. The Talons took the series 4-2. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Frontier League Farmers and a 53-15 record. Traverse City manager Ian Patrick Anderson grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Oliva's words. "Juan said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.
