Hernández Shuts Out Kodiaks, 1-0 Saturday, August 5th , 2062 The Assateague Ponies did little to support starter Júlio Hernández against the Kingston Kodiaks, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Kodiaks, striking out 7 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Hernández allowed Assateague to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said, 'Júlio, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Hernández told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it." In 9 starts this year, Hernández has posted 1 win while suffering 7 losses.
