Kingston Takes Round 1 Thursday, August 23rd , 2063 David Méndez put the Kingston Kodiaks on his shoulders as they downed the Traverse City Talons in the Round 1. Kingston won the deciding game by a 5-4 count at Rippers Ballpark and wrapped up the series 4-1. Méndez played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .368 batting average with a .400 on-base percentage, 3 home runs, 9 RBI and 5 runs scored. "I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said. The Kingston Kodiaks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Charlottesville Marching Ants - Russellville Rockets series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 is scheduled to begin on August 27th , 2063.
