That's exactly what Jorge Padilla did at Visions Field, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 7-5. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Padilla said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Gulf Oil Drillers right fielder blistered the General Mills Lucky Charms for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," General Mills manager Cecil Guzmán said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Jorge Padilla hit a solo-shot off Shi-fu Gang in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Shi-fu Gang in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Héctor Hernández in the 8th. Padilla is hitting at a .315 mark this season. His stats show 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has played 30 games for the Drillers. |
