Gaston Grabs SL1 Reliever of the Year Award

At the age of 22, Jim Gaston says he still has a lot to learn about life in Angela Drake League.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Daytona Beach Cruisers reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2061 Sub League 1 Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Marbo Annex, Guam native said.
For the season, Gaston had 21 saves in 30 relief appearances, which totaled 31.1. He fanned 40 betters, while walking 9 and put up a record of 3-2 to go with his 1.44 ERA.
He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 32. Jorge Castro of the Port of Spain Royales finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Dave Schantz of the Caracas Sting finished third with 1 first place vote.
