García Whips Hastings, 2-0
Saturday, June 9th , 2063
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Juan Carlos García of the Kingston Legends proved the point at Bob Marley Memorial Stadium, holding the Hastings Haymakers to 5 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"García made us look real bad today," Haymakers manager Bob Powers said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
García had 7 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks as the Legends took the 2-0 win.
