Cruisers Hitless Against Shupe
Friday, July 20th , 2063
Bogota Scholars starter Sergio Shupe came up big at Scholars Hall with an exceptional 10-0 win against the Daytona Beach Cruisers. Not only did he whip them, but Shupe held them hitless, too.
"My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed Shupe. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens."
In the course of the no-hitter, Shupe collected 9 strikeouts and surrendered 1 walk -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books.
This season, Shupe has fanned 66 in 75 innings and collected a 5-4 record with a 2.52 ERA.
