Takahashi Stops San Angelo
Thursday, August 16th , 2063
The San Angelo Missions were almost helpless in their 9-0 loss to the Cat Island Pirates and hurler Juichi Takahashi. Takahashi kept the Missions confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Takahashi," San Angelo manager Juan Tejeda said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 19-year-old right-hander had 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Takahashi said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
Thus far this season, Takahashi has posted a 5-3 record, started 15 games, struck out 101 batters in 105.2 innings and compiled a 3.07 ERA.
