Webb Rips 3 HR Friday, January 13th , 2062 It was a good day for the Central America Conquistadors and an exceptional one for Bob Webb. The 18-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Conquistadors beat the Australia Kangaroos, 5-4, at El Salvador Park. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Webb said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Bob Webb struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Trent Fookes in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Antony Collyer in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Terence Guthrie in the 10th. Looking at his present stats, Webb has compiled a .380 batting average in 11 games with a .466 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 17 runs. |
