Benz Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Sunday, January 28th , 2063 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jim Benz -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Suns Park, but the performance lost a little luster when the Suns were downed, 13-11, by the Central America Conquistadors. After his glittering performance, the Asia catcher told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Benz said. Jim Benz flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Claudio Medina in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
