Butler Hit String Snapped at 23 Friday, February 2nd , 2063 The Australia Kangaroos lost to the Eastern Europe Kings, 18-2, at Kangaroos Field, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Glen Butler's 23-game hitting streak. The catcher went 0-for-2 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Butler, we would win the game," Kings manager Dale Deas explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." So far this season, Butler has gotten 48 hits in 112 at-bats for a .429 batting average with 7 home runs. His stats include 36 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has played in 24 games. |
