Morris Rips South America for 5 Hits
Monday, February 12th , 2063
After a 5-hit effort to lead Central America's 25-24 victory over the South America Gulls, left fielder Ron Morris told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the International Finishing Consortium-level is really something special."

The 19-year-old player earned his accolades at El Salvador Park with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Gulls.

"His swing is getting there," said Conquistadors skipper Timothy Carr, who spoke glowingly of Morris after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ron did that to perfection."

Ron Morris doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Looking at his stats this year, Morris has compiled a .449 batting average, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 46 runs. He has played in 39 games and scored 80 runs.
