ABA Announces Outstanding Batter Award Friday, June 1st , 2063 Javier Mateo, the Port Elizabeth first baseman, certainly made a name for himself this past month. He banged out a .369 batting average with 38 hits, 5 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 22 times. That kind of hitting earned him the African Baseball Alliance Batter of the Month honors for May. This season, Mateo is swinging the bat at a .361 rate with 39 hits in 108 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 23 runs and driven in 20. |
