Ramírez Sends Kuala Lumpur Bats to Deep Freeze
Friday, September 5th , 2064
All went well for Carlos Ramírez of the Shanghai Catbirds as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 16-0, over the Kuala Lumpur Koalas, limiting them to 2 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Ramírez on the day.
"Carlos's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Catbirds manager Donald Harris. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Shanghai left-hander rang up 6 and surrendered 1 walk.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Koalas manager Michael Solís. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
This year, Ramírez has made 17 starts, thrown 87.1 innings, fanned 75 batters and walked 45. His won-lost record is 4-4 with a 2.99 ERA.
