Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl
Wednesday, August 31st , 2050
If there wasn't a history between Iestyn Maidens of Caracas and Mi-yuan Fan of Santiago, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Maidens said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This year Maidens has hit at a .242 pace and produced 67 RBIs, 23 home runs and scored 59 runs.
This season he has made no relief appearances, collecting no saves. Fan has worked 148.1 innings, yielding 127 hits and giving out 89 free passes while striking out 150. He has a 11-11 record with a 5.16 ERA.
