Skipper Díaz Sacked; Georgetown Starts Search Saturday, October 14th , 2062 Earlier reports stating Royals manager Javier Díaz was fired were confirmed today by team officials. Díaz's time as Georgetown manager ended due to reasons undisclosed by the team, but rocky relations with players along with disagreements with the front office can probably be credited for the dismissal. Díaz had no comment on the situation, but ownership did have a comment. "We thank Javier for his time with the team, but we felt it was time to part ways," team general manager said in a statement. "Expectations were not met and promises were not fulfilled, and the Royals would rather continue their commitment to winning with a new manager and a different direction." A successor has not been named, though some names have been speculated to be next in line for the job. A press conference introducing the next coach should be held in the coming days, but for now the only official news is that Díaz's tenure as manager is over. |
