Abbott Cracks 3 HR for Jackhammers Saturday, April 15th , 2062 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Nagoya College Tasmanian Devils. Kanpur College catcher Andy Abbott tripled up on the home runs to propel the Jackhammers to a win, 12-3, at Jackhammers Park. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Nagoya College manager Agnidhra Sajan said. "Abbott hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Abbott collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Andy Abbott hit a two-run home run off Orinosuke Tanaka in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Orinosuke Tanaka in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Taro Ishikawa in the 7th. Thus far this season in 45 games, Abbott is batting .271 with 19 home runs, 49 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 155 at-bats. |
