 | Lake Booms 4 HR Against Bradenton Tuesday, November 18th, 2042 Hitting a single home run is a tough task. Hitting two in a game is impressive. Hitting three is remarkable. Anything beyond that is borderline unbelievable -- yet that's what Edward Lake did today in the 14-2 Tallahassee Gamblers victory over the Bradenton Bears.
Lake went 5-for-5 with 4 home runs and drove in 6 runs in a once-in-a-lifetime feat that the opposing manager later labeled "impossible."
"I don't believe it really happened," Bears manager joked to BNN reporters afterward. "I don't ever enjoy losing a game, but this kid was special today. I have never seen a guy hit 4 in a game before. I didn't enjoy it, but it was special."
Edward Lake hit a two-run home run off Firmino Pega in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Juan Burgos in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Don Castor in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Domingo Torres in the 8th.
This year Lake has socked 10 hits in 19 at-bats for a .526 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .591 pace and his totals also include 10 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
