Lake Raps Bradenton for 5 Hits
Tuesday, November 18th, 2042
After a 5-hit effort to lead Tallahassee's 14-2 victory over the Bradenton Bears, center fielder Edward Lake told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Florida Prospect League-level is really something special."

The 23-year-old player earned his accolades today at Ballpark of Hialeah with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Bears.

"His swing is getting there," said Gamblers skipper , who spoke glowingly of Lake after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Edward did that to perfection today."

Edward Lake hit a two-run home run off Firmino Pega in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Juan Burgos in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Don Castor in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Domingo Torres in the 8th.

This year Lake is batting .526 with 5 home runs. He has scored 5 runs and driven in 10.
