Hebrew Hammers Tagged with 4-2 Loss

The Sydney Sharks got a marvelous performance from pitcher Jeff Bannon. The right-hander kept the Jerusalem offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Sydney victory at Blacktown International Sportspark. Bannon, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Picking up his 2nd save was 35-year old right-handed pitcher Bryan Hall.
Hazðm Danishmend had a big run-scoring double for the Sharks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Sydney leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from José Castro, who finished 5th in the GBC in saves with 23 in 2054, and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sharks ahead, 3-1.
"Nice to get this one," said Danishmend. "We've been scuffling."
The Sharks, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 2062.
