Hebrew Hammers Rally to Tally 5-3 Win
|
The Sao Paulo Pilots got a sterling performance from pitcher Boulos Naim, but the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers still prevailed, 5-3. Naim came in in relief and pitched to 31 batters. Jerusalem reliever Carlos Rodda got the win, raising his record to 1-0. José Arredondo was tagged with the loss. Fernando Camacho, who finished 2nd in the GBC in saves with 37 last year, nailed down the save.
Jerusalem took a 5-3 lead on Jamal bin Majd's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which bin Majd hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Sao Paulo pitcher Max Dawe visibly frustrated.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," bin Majd told the Jerusalem Observer.
The win puts Jerusalem at 9-8.
