Mayappan Now 9-9 Following 2-1 Win

The Sydney Sharks received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Daljit Mayappan, allowing them to shoot down the Athens Fighting Centaurs, 2-1. Sydney, at 56-76, occupies last place in the GBC AfSAmOc Division.
Mayappan, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 9-9. In 8.2 innings of work, Mayappan gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Fighting Centaurs punchless, offensively.
Mayappan told a Sydney Gazette reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
