Tonga Takes Round 1
Kuauli Corowa said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Round 1 until he was shown his own statistics.

The Tonga Killers right fielder put up a .458 average with 4 home runs, 14 RBI and 9 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Killers advancing to the Round 2, with a 4-2 series win over the Guam Emperors.

"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."

The series victory had become official with a 10-1 triumph at Caribou Ballpark. Even if Corowa is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.

"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.

The Tonga Killers will play against the Perth Galaxy in the next round. Perth won their series against the Koror Checkers 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
