Leo Ottaway said his Brisbane Beacons simply weren't ready for the season to come to an end.

"We told ourselves we were winning this series no matter what," he said, shortly after being named the Round 1 MVP, following a 8-4 win at Ankara HS Grounds that officially eliminated the Perth Galaxy, 4-2.

Ottaway said his team is "confident and ready" for the Round 2.

The Brisbane Beacons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pago Pago Chiefs - Koror Checkers series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
