Pilots Lose, 8-7, to Buenos Aires
|
Katsunan Hashimoto did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Sao Paulo Pilots from being beaten, 8-7, to the Buenos Aires Brisas at Ballpark of Bucharest. Hashimoto went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Troy Torres, who is tied for 10th in the GBC in wins with 10, was the winner. He's now 10-7. The loser was Max Dawe. The 'W' lifts Buenos Aires's record to 70-62.
Leonard Jackson had a big 2-run home run for the Brisas in the top of the ninth inning. With Buenos Aires leading 6-3 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Carlos Campos, who finished 5th in the GBC in wins with 12 in 2058, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 28th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brisas ahead, 8-3.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Jackson, "but we got it done."
