After a 5-hit effort to lead Boulder's 15-4 victory over the Tombstone Geckos, first baseman Tatsukichi Sanu told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Charley Pegler League-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at The O.K. Corral with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Geckos.

"His swing is getting there," said Crush skipper Álex Muñóz, who spoke glowingly of Sanu after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Tatsukichi did that to perfection."

Tatsukichi Sanu hit a two-run single in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off José Martínez in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Abraham Castellanos in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

So far this season, Sanu has recorded a .345 batting average with 122 hits, 25 home runs, 71 RBIs, 78 runs scored and a .426 OBP.
