With left fielder Vicente López leading the charge, the Long Beach Surfers defeated the San Fernando Bears, 6-5, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium. López, who leads the FL in home runs with 5, was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win went to Salvador Cruz in relief, making him now 1-1. Dhrtatman Seshadri took the loss for San Fernando. The win gives Long Beach a record of 2-9.

Javier Cardona was the walk-off hero for Long Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Surfers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Cardona.
