The Sao Paulo Pilots beat the Johannesburg Gold, 7-6, at Golden Palace. The win was due in part to first baseman Katsunan Hashimoto, who was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Bryan Hall earned his 17th save in 18 tries. The win makes Sao Paulo 79-75.

Hashimoto had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-2 changeup from Malcolm Gray, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Pilots a 7-3 lead. It was the 40th home run of the year for Hashimoto.

"It was a pretty good night," said Hashimoto.
