Sao Paulo Wins, 7-5, Behind 2 Morris Home Runs
|
Sao Paulo left fielder Wayne Morris contributed significantly to his team's 7-5 win over the Tokyo Pearls. Morris went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Pilots. The winning pitcher was Mike Rivet. His record now stands at 4-1. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Pilots. Sao Paulo goes to 75-87, Tokyo to 83-79.
With Sao Paulo leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Morris hit a changeup from Aaron Anderson for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Pilots ahead, 6-2.
"No time for flexing," said Morris. "It's always one game at a time."
